SPAGHETTI SHRIMP SAUCE
You must have often encountered processed spaghetti made from meat and tomatoes. INGREDIENTS:
- 6 ounces of spaghetti
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 12 ounces of medium size shrimp, peel and remove the middle part
- 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 2 ½ ounces of canned chopped tomatoes without salt
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tbsp fresh chopped basil or 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped oregano or 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp pickled caper
- T tsp chili powder
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Cook the spaghetti according to the instructions that are inside the package
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and garlic, cook for 3 minutes or until the shrimp is reddish. Transfer the shrimp and the remaining oil into one container and set aside.
- Add tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, capers, and chili powder to the pan, place over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the shrimp and the remaining oil to the pan, cook for 2 minutes.
- Serve spaghetti and give shrimp sauce on top. Serve immediately.
